December Reset: Starting Fresh as a Solo Creator
December Reset: Starting Fresh as a Solo Creator
Everyone else is "winding down" for the holidays.
You? You're setting up for your best year yet.
Why December Matters
While employees are in cruise control, solo creators who use December strategically get:
- Reduced competition for attention
- Space to think without client urgency
- Time to build what you've been postponing
- Head start on January
December is a gift. Don't waste it.
The December Reset Framework
Week 1: Audit (Dec 1-7)
Review your year honestly:
- What actually made money?
- What was a waste of time?
- Which clients energized you?
- Which drained you?
No judgment. Just data.
Action: Write down your top 3 wins and top 3 lessons.
Week 2: Simplify (Dec 8-14)
Cut what's not working:
- Unsubscribe from tools you don't use
- Archive projects that aren't moving
- End relationships that aren't serving you
- Clear the backlog guilt
Every "no" creates space for a better "yes."
Action: Cancel at least 3 subscriptions or commitments.
Week 3: Build (Dec 15-21)
Create what you've been postponing:
- Update your pitch pages
- Write that blog post series
- Set up the automation
- Fix the thing that's been bugging you
Everyone else is at holiday parties. You're building.
Action: Ship one thing you've been putting off.
Week 4: Rest and Plan (Dec 22-31)
Actually rest. Then plan:
- Set 3 goals for Q1 (not 30)
- Identify your single biggest lever
- Decide what you'll say no to
- Schedule your first week back
Action: Write your January plan before January.
The Solo Advantage
Employees can't do this. They're in corporate freeze mode, waiting for approvals, stuck in annual review cycles.
You can move right now.
While they're updating their LinkedIn cover photos and "looking forward to what 2025 brings," you're already building it.
